So many new things!

My new trolley! Feel like queen when I can sit

Take a close look at my new Chinese dress.
It's hand made by a Nainai in Egypt and I even wear it when I sleep ;-)

Mama said I look like Swedish version of 李铁梅
(a famous tough lady in the revolution)

Grandparents last days in Beijing

The time together in Beijing was wonderful and we wish the grandparents could stay much longer. Now we are waiting for the next time we will meet, this Christmas in Sweden. The first time Felicia will visit Sweden and experience a Swedish winter with Santa Claus, -30 degrees celcius, and a lot of snow.

Here we want to publish some final pictures from the stay in Beijing.

Being teased by Grandpa

We are looking forward to seeing you again during the Christmas Holiday!

798 Factory and other Escapades

The "hottest" art district in Beijing is called 798 Factory area. It has developed a lot the last couple of years and it is an excellent place to spend a day. Even though there were a lot of people visiting 798 during the October holiday the place was still spacious and did not feel crowded (compared to the Bird Nest and Olympic Park area where most other Beijingers seem to have spent their holiday).

Where did she go???

Finally found her

After a day in the galleries our little daughter was very hungry and it was time for another cup of Swedish porridge brought by the grandparents. Yummy!
Less talk and more food!!!

We also spent quite a lot of time in Chaoyang Park, and in the newly opened shopping area Solana next by the park. Grandpa and Grandma found some very nice "Tjasabyxor" and vests for the Swedish autumn. Felicia was as always falling asleep when put in the trolley and she enjoyed most of the shopping dreaming of food and of
playing with Grandpa and Grandma.

Grandpa making a Birdie

Hole 11 at Huatang

Father and Grandpa got some time over for golf during the visit. Here you can see the hole where grandpa is showing the younger generation how to play by making a birdie.
The golf weather was excellent and sunblock 60 were definitely needed for the two Vikings.
After coming home we relaxed and played with Felicia (of course telling her in detail about the game and giving tips about how to hit a long and straight drive). When playing golf it is important to focus, and as Felicia is not yet trusted with a club (she would be more interested in the taste than in the swing), grandpa is using "Lilla Anna" to improve the focus. Felicia is eagerly playing and having fun.
Aiming for Success

The beautiful day was ended with grandma's excellent "rullader" made by cheese, plums, herbs, mustard etc. covered with a roll of thin sliced beef. As this was a day of celebration and fun we were accompanying this fabulous dish with a bottle of Penfolds Grange, a wonderful wine we wish we could afford to drink every day.

The day is almost over and it is time to prepare for the coming days' activities.

Guess who is playing with who...

A happy time with grandparents

Farmor and Farfar stayed with us for 3 weeks. A fantastic time with full exposure of Norrlandska, beautiful clothes from Aunt Annelie, a lot of picture showing and games from Farfar!
Most of the time Felicia has been sweet and happy, though one time she gave farmor a hard time when Jenny went to Yoga. This little girl defitely get smarter and smarter. We all agree that she actually knows much more than we thought. She knows when to scream and when to tease us with a charming smile. Hm... more strategies need to be implemented.

First time to try solid food

Grandparents brought Swedish porridge, and this is how it looked like when we tried with Felicia for the first time. A little bit suspicious in the beginning, but soon she started to scream for more! It took her 5 minutes to learn to swollow other food than milk, and now she is so good at swollowing and eating food in spoon. We also tried a little bit of baby juice so she started to learn how to eat by bottle. In the beginning it was not easy for her to suck, she would rather hold the bottle herself and play with it a little bit, which made her quite happy though :-))

I can drink by myself!

New favorite snack

Starting from 4 months, Felicia found out only tasting the thumb was a little bit boring, so she started to explore on her own cute toes, and obviously that was an amazing findout. Now every time we put her down on the diaper table or the bed, she would immediately drag her toes into the mouth and start to "guaji guaji.....".... Yummy yummy!

Time Flies!

Since our friend has been complaining that there are too few pictures. Here I posted some more!!

From new born to the latest. What a big difference in 4 months! Seeing the growth of a baby really make us feel how time flies!

To sleep or not to sleep. That's the question

Our lovely daughter is a very energetic little girl. This is most obvious after the 8PM bath when it should be time to sleep. Apparently it is much more fun to play with mother and father than trying to fall asleep. After some post-bath exciting games like bed spinning, handkerchief peek-a-poo, and Swedish lessons (trying to sound like father) it is impossible to get the little baby sleepy. Fortunately there is always the Beatles. We find that she loves to dance with beatles in Papa's arms (which is Papa's favorite as well). Usually it takes 5-6 songs then she would have leaned her head on papa's chest and stayed deeply asleep with a smile.

Sometimes even Beatles does not work, another trick (or, maybe we should say a "method") which turned out to be very efficient, is to put her into the stroller, put on the mosquito net, and take her out for a walk in the garden, even though it is dark outside. The fresh air, and the beautiful frog melody in the lake are obviously very tranquilizing, it never takes more than half a lap before she falls asleep.

Until that moment, we could finally give a relieve breath, and smile to each other and rush home. Now it's time for an episode of "Apprentice"! Yeah!

Big Milestone for Turning Over

Today Felicia officially presented her skill in flipping over herself without any external help. In the morning, I left her lying in bed and went to get a towel to clean her hand. When I came back after just 5 seconds, she was lying in her stomach with 2 arms supporting her upper body, still a little bit shaky -- in Yoga the "cat style". I flipped her over and just 2 minutes later, she did it again! Mmmm... great baby! but at the same time it raised a big alarm "you better watch out, I can flip all over till the end of the bed.... " I think we soon need to build some kind of "great wall" in bed for safety reason :-)
After a while, when the Ayi was doing cleaning, I asked her to watch out Felicia for a second. Not surprisingly, I heard a scream from the bedroom "She is turning over by herself!!!" haha! Now she can not stop it now. It must be a brand new wonderful world from her new perspective!

Kangaroo Baby

It has been such lovely weather during the later part of Beijing Olympics and especially the last weekend. We don't know if it is due to the odd/even numberplate day, the stop of construction work, or the closing down of industries within Beijing. Nevertheless - when the weather is like this, Beijing is heaven on Earth and we really hope it can continue.

This Sunday we spent the afternoon in Chaoyang Park together with Aileen, Zhang Tao, and their daughter XiaoXiao. Perfect temperature, blue sky, and good company. What more is there to ask of life? Felicia was as always falling asleep the moment we put her in the trolley, but after a while she woke up, feeling very alert. In order for her to watch the lake with the beautiful lotus flowers we put her into the carriage belt. She looked like a small little kangaroo baby.

When the sun started to set we put the now sleeping beauty into the trolley and went shopping in Solana. Jenny did not find anything while Felicia and Anders were enjoying the outdoor concert and buying passion fruit juice from Yunnan (a new favourite), and of course a cup of Mocca. After Jenny's unfruitful shopping we went to a nice Chinese restaurant where we could eat outdoors. It was very nice and Felicia was sleeping all of the time (a lot of sleep - something she compensated around 3AM when mother had a hard time convincing her that it was not the proper time for a walk in the garden).

In Stockholm thinking of Beijing

This is Felicia's father writing. I have spent the last three days in Stockholm on a business trip. The flight to Stockholm was quite interesting as the entire Swedish Olympic team was on the same flight. I was sitting next to a SOC (Swedish Olympic Committee) boss and the coach of Carolina Kluft.
In Sweden it is cold and rainy compared to Beijing but the air is very clean. Jenny has told me that Felicia is laughing and very happy. Unfortunately too happy to fall asleep :-)
Now it is only a couple of hours until my flight is leaving back to Beijing. It will be so wonderful to soon meet up with my lovely family.

Sleeping Beauty

Felicia has formed quite good sleeping habit now. She normally goes to bed around 8:30 every night after the bath, then she could sleep till 2am, and then around 5am. By then she starts a new day with a brilliant smile and some "wu... ei...." singing. So it's no way for mama to continue to sleep. Sometimes she could play by herself for a while in bed when I pretend not to have waken up, but of course this can not last for more than 10 mins, then she decides "Enough is enough!"

Felicia 100 days!

Our sweet daughter Felicia just had her 100 days. We want to record every sweet moment of her growup, and keep it as a gift to Felicia when she grows up. We would also like to share this blog with Felicia's Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles, friends.

She has learned so much and looks like a big girl now. Her favorite food is her own fingers, and her personal acrobatic record is to lie on her stomach for 5 mins. She can also easily grab whatever close to her: handkerchief, dirty diaper, pillow, mama's hair etc... She even could suddenly start the music in her own bouncer chair, and surprises us. Right now Papa is on business trip to Sweden, Felicia has been wondering a lot what gift she could get from Papa . When I asked her "do you miss papa?" she gave a big scream, and I took it as a "yes!"
